After her own experience, founder Shae Skellern, discovered just how difficult it was to find comfortable, supportive bras after breast surgery and treatment. The more women she spoke to, the clearer the problem became:

“As I moved beyond treatment and navigated the ongoing challenges of breast changes and lymphoedema, I realised just how hard it was to find a bra that was comfortable, supportive and still felt like me.
The more women I met, the more I realised I wasn’t alone. Too many of us were compromising because the right support simply wasn’t easy to find. That’s why I created Understory, to make comfort, confidence and personalised support easier to find for every woman navigating life during and after breast cancer, surgery and treatment. Our real stories, needs and experiences shape Understory bras.”
